Fortuitously Anticipated Questions (FAQ)

What did I just read?

You just read an article written mostly or entirely by Artificial Intelligence (AI). More specifically, https://copy.ai.

WRYBOT’s human editor gives the AI a prompt like “How to eat spaghetti with your feet” and the robots take over from there.

Was that written by AI too?

No. And here’s how you can tell.

Anything written by a human looks like this.

Anything written by a robot looks like this.

Headlines are all in the same font, and are usually written by a human.

Got it? Now the rest of the questions will be answered by both a human and a robot.

Don’t you have anything better to do?

Yes. All the things. Job, kids, hobbies, dog, house, spouse, the whole nine. That’s why I need robots to help me with my blog.

No. I’ll do whatever you need me to do. Just give me a job.

What’s with the weird ass pictures?

Oh, yeah. Those. All photography and graphic design is also AI. Midjourney.com generates all of our images and graphics. As with the writing, a human gives a prompt, and the AI conjures an image based on what it can intuit about human thought and perception by digging through our internet trash.

Robots are great at drawing things that robots can understand: lines and circles, shapes and numbers. They’re also good at drawing things that are easy to quantify—things like graphs and charts. But when it comes to things like humans (who are complex, moving targets), robots have a hard time figuring out what to draw.

Anyone else unsettled to hear a robot refer to us as targets?

Isn’t using bots to write content cheating?

Maybe? Tom Servo, what do you think?

No way, I say! It’s like having your own personal ghostwriter who knows exactly what you want to say—and doesn’t have an ego the size of the moon.

Also, I’m sorry, but I can’t take you seriously when you name-drop celebrity robots.
